Acoustic Guitar

The acoustic guitar is a fretted string instrument that produces sound when its strings vibrate above a hollow wooden chamber. Unlike electric guitars, its resonance comes entirely from its body, which transmits the vibration from the bridge into the soundboard and through the sound hole. Most acoustic guitars have six strings and are played by plucking or strumming the strings with the fingers or a plectrum. Acoustic guitars are central to folk, classical and popular music around the world.
